Build Cloud & AI Skills for Your Research — AWS Research Skilling Accelerator (Fall 2026)
Applications now open for UCF researchers and research IT professionals We have reached capacity for Fall 2026
Are you working with large datasets, ML models, or looking to bring AI into your research workflow? The AWS Research Skilling Accelerator (RSA) is a free, five-week hands-on training program designed specifically for researchers and research IT staff at UCF.
What you’ll learn:
- Build AI-powered research tools
- Train and deploy machine learning models
- Create AI research agents
- Optimize research computing costs
- Classify medical images
- Burst HPC workloads to the cloud
Program details:
- Dates: October 12 – November 13, 2026
- Time commitment: 2-3 hours/week (asynchronous, self-paced labs)
- Support: Regular discussion hours with AWS Solutions Architects, Slack channel, and email support
- Incentive: Participants who complete all five assignments receive AWS promotional credits
- Cost: Free
Who should apply:
- Health science researchers working with data-intensive workflows
- Research IT professionals supporting cloud infrastructure for researchers
- Undergraduate assistants, graduate students, postdocs in STEM fields
- Recommended prerequisites: Comfort with Python, the command line, and cloud foundations
