Biography

Ben has both a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science in Mathematics and is pursuing a PhD in Mathematics at UCF. His research interests include the dynamics of neural networks during training, and what can be mathematically proven about their ability to approximate and represent functions. Ben is proficient in Python and has experience with shell scripting and Linux system maintenance/administration. He enjoyed being an instructor during his graduate assistantship in the math department, and has become a Carpentries certified instructor to continue serving as an educator. For Ben, a good data visualization is similar to a good joke, it shouldn’t need to be explained. In his free time, he recycles old laptops by installing Linux and repurposing them as home servers.
